Aiyaary, Black Panther, Pad Man & Padmaavat: Box Office Update

The Bollywood box office is facing a dull phase this week as new releases are not doing as much business as they should be doing and holdover releases are naturally decreasing in their buzz. Looks like, the whole February will be now more or less the same.

Neeraj Pandey’s Aiyaary has been a disappointing affair at box office. Considering its trailer and story, it was expected to show a strong hold but audience was never there for its shows right from its first day. So far, in 5 days, Aiyaary has collected 14.29 crore.

Even 20 crore mark is looking extremely hard for this Manoj Bajpayee and Sidharth Malhotra starrer. However, the movie has performed relatively better in overseas markets, minting 7.26 crore.

Marvel’s Black Panther is the biggest film this week in India as well as the world. It has shown amazing footfalls in weekend and weekdays. Its nett. collections in 5 days are 25.31 crore, grossing 32.45 crore.

Audience has loved this superhero movie and it has given a tough competition to other films. Multiplex crowd is increasingly giving huge response to Hollywood films. With great reviews andd positive recommendations, Black Panther will be nearing the 30 crore mark (nett) in 1 week.

Akshay Kumar’s Pad Man is in its 2nd week and has neared the 75 crore mark in 12 days. Its total is 74.65 crore. Considering its topic, Pad Man is doing well in theaters. It won’t enter the 100 crore club but it’s a good box office run.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat is a mega success of 2018 as it has done a humongous earning in India as well as overseas markets. It has collected 279.30 crore so far which is phenomenal. Its worldwide total is beyond 500 crore. Padmaavat is the 7th highest grossing film of all time and top grosser of 2018. It will be a while before any Bollywood movie this year breaks its earning records.
