Ranveer Singh, Shahid Kapoor and Deepika Padukone starrer Padmaavat has been on a roll since its release. Entering its 3rd week, the movie has been putting its best foot forwards even after Akshay Kumar’s PadMan has taken over the driver’s seat.
Padmaavat started amidst numerous controversies but it went on to rise high with every day at the box office. The movie has raised the bar for performances in a Sanjay Leela Bhansali film. The movie though started a bit on a slower side on its 3rd Friday by collecting 3.50 crores but showed a very good growth on its 3rd Saturday and 3rd Sunday by earning 6.30 crores and 8 crores respectively.
The film in its 3 week collected 3.25 crores* taking the grand total to 257.05 crores*. If we look back at the day in December, when the movie was supposed to release originally, it’s a brilliant position the movie has been standing currently.
Deepika Padukone, whose latest release Padmaavat has turned out to be the actress’ highest grosser by crossing India collections of 250 crores, says she is yet to celebrate the success and feels the success story is not over as yet.
Deepika plays the title role in the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial and has expressed her gratitude for the love and appreciation that has come to her, Bhansali as well as co-actors Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor.
“I think for me, Ranveer’s contribution in the film as well as Shahid’s contribution, is something that I will always cherish.
“I think it was very gracious of them to give so much to this film and I am so happy that together we get to celebrate the success but like I said, it’s not over as in the weekend more people will go to watch our film,” Deepika said here on the sidelines of Volare Awards 2018.
